Sixteen young ladies will compete for two titles — Young Miss and Miss Teen Lehua — on Saturday, April 28, at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Sixteen young ladies will compete for two titles — Young Miss and Miss Teen Lehua — on Saturday, April 28, at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with the program to commence at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door, available via email at lehuahawaiiproductions@gmail.com and at Lehua Hawaii Productions on Facebook.

Here are the Young Miss contestants:

l Angelina Ramirez, 9, daughter of Cristie and Robert Ramirez of Kurtistown, enjoys Tahitian dancing, piano, writing, reading and drawing. She attends Wailoa Charter School.

l Emma Rose Sheffett, 10, is a fifth-grader at Waiakea Elementary. Her parents are Matthew and Tinniel Sheffett. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing Tahitian and hula and playing softball and volleyball.

l Jazmine Correa, 11, is the daughter of Crystal Makekau and James K. Correa of Hilo. She enjoys drawing, gymnastics, traveling, tennis and baking. She attends E.B. deSilva Elementary.

l Moani Pule, 12, is the daughter of Robert and Celeste Pule of Kaumana. She enjoys hula and paddling. She attends Kaumeke Kaeo.

l Kylih Ann Ioane-Ogawa, 13, attends Hilo Intermediate. Her parents are Roslyn and Frank Ogawa. Her hobbies include softball, volleyball, cheer leading and Tahitian dance.

l Haley-Nicole Kalai, 11, is a sixth-grader at Kamehameha School. Her parents are Derek and Tanya Kai. In her spare time, she enjoys Tahitian dancing, going to the beach, shopping and spending time with her family.

l Jaysha Pavao is the daughter of Harolyn Pavao. She is a sixth-grader at Keaau Middle School. In her spare time she enjoys running and dancing Tahitian.

l Kailee Kuhaulua-Stacy, 10, is a fifth-grader at Volcano School of Arts and Science. Her parents are Cheyenne and Sheldon Salmo. She loves swimming, biking and riding her rip stick.

Here are the Miss Teen Lehua contestants:

l Shevalyn Yamaguchi is a ninth-grader attending Kamehameha High School. Her parents are Selisa Wright and Valen Yamaguchi of Pahoa. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, dancing, writing and reading.

l Katarina Canda, 16, is a Kamehameha junior. Her parents are Juergen and Sue Canda of Keaau. In her spare time she enjoys drawing, writing, student leadership, sports management and being a hospital volunteer.

l Hillary Luna is an 11th-grader at Hilo High School. Her parents are Layne and Jacqueline Luna of Hilo. Her hobbies include hula, signing, playing ukulele, wrestling, kickboxing, jiujitsu, judo, martial arts, drawing, doing community service, weight lifting and working out.

l Cyerra “Kea” Aiona, 16, is a junior attending Kamehameha. Her mother is Ellen Asuncion of Keaau. Aiona enjoys singing, canoe paddling, hula and drawing.

l Esther Nalei Kerr, 15, attends Kamehameha as a sophomore. Her parents are Chris and Leilani Kerr of Hilo. Her hobbies are swimming, hula, going to the beach and hanging out with family and friends.

l Kaleipualehua Tam is a freshman attending Ke Kula O Nawahiokalani‘opu‘u. Her parents are Stacy and Kiha Tam from Keaau. Her hobbies include dancing hula and horseback riding.

l Samantha Tabura is a sophomore at Kamehameha. Her parents are Olga and Milford Tabura. She enjoys dancing, photography and track and field.

l Dominiq Duldulao is a ninth-grader at Kamehameha. Her mother is Lani Shigehara Walters. Duldulao loves canoe paddling, dancing hula, skateboarding, drawing, making earrings, crafts, surfing and spending time with family and friends.
